How did plastic bags start?
Celloplast, is a Swedish Company, that produced the original design of the plastic bag. In the early 1960s, a Swedish engineer, Sten Gustaf Thulin, created the idea of folding and wielding a tube of plastic. It was not until 1977, when the idea was brought to the US. The company, Mobil, and other manufactures used the idea agasint Celloplast.

In 1958, the Dow Chemical Company marketed plastic bags, and was produced by the S.C. Johnson & Son. Although, it originated by a company called Flexigrip, Inc., because they created the original design and production. Flexigrip's first client was a Japanese company. The company spread and replicated the expansion. In 1964, the plastic bag industry had a wide spread to 25 countries. Many off-brand companies continued to make plastic bags. Ziploc is the most common zipper sealed bag in the US.
